Principle #2 Student engage in authentic task

As a teacher, I have always used authentic learning in my classes. Authentic learning benefits students greatly in the classroom; it gives students a better understanding of tasks when they can relate them to real-life experiences, and this helps students complete tasks successfully. I've seen positive results from engaging in authentic activities.

For example, during one language period, the class was assigned to read a passage about Diwali. Before the children began reading, they saw the title of the passage and excitement grew among them, as did conversations, and they were eager to share their experiences and relate to the passage. Some children were able to draw parallels between the passage and real-life situations.
