Principle #7 Language arts instruction should center on quality literature

 It is important that students use quality literature to explore language skills, writing aspects such as language devices, grammar, and so on. Quality literature is an excellent stimulus for involving students because it gives them time to reflect and make connections between the text, their own experiences, and personal responses. In addition, quality texts provide readers with a relatable context, making it easier to write from various points of view and about abstract situations. What factors influence the quality of children's literature? A good book has a key focus that connects the story and captures the reader in. The topic should be exciting and relevant to children, and it ought to have a beginning, middle, and end. The theme should originate from the story so that the reader recognizes it as a learning experience.
